Hi dtm953 - as you say, Hertfordshire are rolling out a Learning Platform based on Kaleidos, which is pretty much what I said (I don't recall specifying VLE/LP but I appreciate that the OP was about VLEs).

Schools in Hertfordshire adopting the full Kaleidos VLE (which has to be paid for) benefit from support from County and full integration of the LP, VLE, SIMS etc is organised by the CC, and I was just saying that the official county line at the present appears to be Kaleidos. Go on Herts CC LP training and you'll see Kaleidos on the agenda.

    London - Fronter

Does anyone know if building websites using Fronter would

    a) be good for GCSE coursework?
    b) be relavant to building websites using something like dreamweaver?

    Thank you!

Suburban - I'm in Hertfordshire and we've tried Kaleidos within a few departments but not convinced.

What are the minimum requiremetns for a VLE environment in schools by Dec 31st?

    Thanks J

Um, no it wouldn't... ...you'd be better of buying your own server space for a few quid... ...why do you need a server for GCSE web projects, can't it all be seen on the client terminals?

We've taken on Studywiz and so far seems great. Dead easy to use and lots of options no matter what subject you're teaching.

I don't know which VLE Gloucestershire are pushing but I've been told its not Studywiz!

Has anyone opted for the SERCO VLE?
