Does anyone know of a website(s) where a puzzle or two can be displayed on the IWB for the kids to settle down to as soon as they come in in the mornings? Any help gratefully received :)

I don't know about a website but at our school we have a box of challenge cards available for maths - there are lots in a box and i presume each year group has got them.  Perhaps you have some somewhere - you could type one up each morning on the IWB or just put a few on each table?

I have bookmarked a fab site with a daily maths challenge set out by date! - great for registration task - but it's on my PC at school. Can't find it now - will look tomorrow.

Fieryideas.com or co.uk is brilliant!!! Go onto the freebies section and there's lots of things for lit and num but the good one for maths early work is molecule maths - loads of numbers appear and you can choose the size of the numbers and set differentiated tasks e.g. add all numbers, order, find the difference etc. Also there's a number bonds one that can be used in any year group e.g to ten or to 137!  there is also a printable set of maths early work sheets, prob suitable for upper KS2. Countdown is always a good one too it's on subtangent.co.uk i think!

If you had even even looked at the transum one, you wouldn't suggest anything different!
