    •  I have just 'lost' the remote for my  sanyo projector, they are very expensive to buy new. As with many appliances if you know the cotrrect code then a cheap universal one can be used.
    • Has anyone else has anyone else had this problem and solved it??

     http://www.avukltd.com/remotecontrolsearch.php

I found a number of generic remotes at very reduced price (£12 instead of £60 from manufacturers)

Not all brands have a generic alternative but worth checking

Have a look for a company called "Wallis".  They produce remotes on demand for TVs and videos.  There is a web site, but nothing on it at the moment - worth the call though!

I think Argos used to do "universal" remotes that you programmed with your existing remote. This only works if you have another projector of the same model around to program the new remote with. What's the model number of your projector, we have Sanyo projectors, we might have the same model.

I was in luck because a school-wide e-mail managed to find someone with the same projector who was still in possession of the remote.

Next stop was ALDI, who have a bargain bucket containing programmable remotes for £10.

The point about the ALDI remotes is that although they are hideous, they can 'learn' the codes from another remote control.  I got the two to talk to each other ... and problem solved.

    Good luck.
