    Our presnt wonderful Chair has expressed a desire to stop.

     

    I'm thinking I might offer to stand -- I'm not sure I'm the best candidate for the job, but I am at least willing.

     Would you recommend it?

     

    What qualities do you think a good chair need?

     

    What should I do in the next 6 months?

    Is Vice not willing? If not, take every opportunity to shadow Chair and get to know what the role involves. My Chair has just been grilled by OfSTED. Apart from all the other duties, look at the guidance and think whether you could face up to a 90 minute grilling on how you challenge, support, drive improvement. He did a great job!
