    Hi everyone,

I wonder if you can help? I went to visit my Godson yesterday (he'll be 2 in January) and while I was there, he threw a tantrum which involved violently banging his head on the floor several times. We were trying to ignore his behaviour but it gets to the point where he's almost knocking himself out. We tried to throw a cushion under his head, but he just moves away.

    Any advice?

    Hi,

My son had exactly the same behaviour problem, we had the same solution and tried to comfort him at the same time.

We found later that the issue was frustration- he wanted to do something but could not communicate his wishes to us so we could not help.

Try to work out what he wants and help him do it. It could be reading! It was in our case.

    Good luck.

     Radical and for emergencies.

    get a towel

    Wrap child in towel.

Then comfort while wrapped in towel.

My youngest banged his head on a wall when I had to leave him in a day care setting which was very very poor...... time again, would not do... but for such situations wrapping might be the best way forward.
