If you join NASEN. the National Association for Special Educational Needs, you'll get the journals "Support for Learning" and the "British Journal of Special Education". Another interesting SEN magazine is "Special". Beyond those, what's available depends on your specialised interest. There are periodicals for sensory impairment, dyslexia, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech and language etc. A good place to browse these is in the education section of a university library - I pay a nominal sum each year to remain a member of the library of the university where I did my PGCE, MA and MEd.

Here is a link to one that I like. We subscribe to it as a school and it is well read in the staff room.

Yes, I can also endorse "Special Children", which is an excellent publication. When I mentioned "Special" in my earlier message, I had "Special Children" in mind, but I got the two titles confused. "Special" comes from the NASEN stable, while "Special Children" is an independent periodical appearing six times a year.

Oh, and another thing I got wrong: the "British Journal of Special Education" is now called "JORSEN", the "Journal of Research in Special Educational Needs".

You might want to consider SENCO update and Raising Achievement Update - both by OPTIMUS PUBLISHING - always found them useful as they resume key issues and provide very good references for further reading.
