Does the paper you read reflect the sort of person you are? or are they all just rags!

I think it may have done in the past, but they are all sensationalist these days, even those previously considered 'quality' ie. the broadsheets.

I think that the fact that you read / don't read may be more revealing!

    No, they don't.

I tend to just flick through these days but I'm going to give that up I think. I find it too depressing and I rarely believe that all that is printed is true and accurate.

I try not to judge people on their choice of paper as all of them now have different elements of pro and con. I've always been a Times girl but they are becoming more sensationalist and tabloid style reporting.

I think I may change to the Independent, it seems to have a more intellectual feel to it. I read the weekend edition of the FT as well. Dare I say it, I do skim the Sun online (although I would never buy it in person).

My mum reads the Sunday Express, which I find hilarious - she's not the stereotypical reader of it by far and it still puzzles me why. Even she admits it's a load of crap!

I do judge people by the paper they read.  I judge them more negatively if they BELIEVE what they read in certain newspapers.

When I used to read in more detail, I found that by comparing the same stories in different papers and listening to radio 4 news, the inaccuricies were obviious.

I also liked to to read and be challenged into thinking about why I viewed a subject in a certain way.

I don't read newspapers, but as an aside, whenever I have to get the train to go into London for training or a meeting, I always insist on reading Viz.  Not really sure why - maybe its a gesture at the 'City' types who sit superciliously reading their FT bloated with their own self-importance.
