We are plannig to have 80 Year 9's in the Hall to have some Maths fun quite soon.

I was thinking that they'd be in groups of about 7/8 and work in teams to solve puzzles- a Maths Olympiad. We have ordered the Liverpool Maths Roadshow CD and were thinking that would provide a lot of the resources, but if it doesn't arrive soon......

Any good ideas/ websites that would provide activities, all help gratefully received.Big Smile

You could use some of the past Team Challenge questions from the UKMT

    http://www.mathcomp.leeds.ac.uk/team-challenges/team-challenge/

(scroll  down to find links to sample materials)

I did this once with a class of 30 and it worked really well

The UKMT team relay is particularly good. You may need to adapt some of their questions, but it is insane fun. It needs a fair amount of staff though - first time I did it was with 60 kids from years 7 & 8 and 3 teachers, we were completely shattered by the end! Kids loved it though, keep bugging us to do it again...
