    Hi all,

I had an interview for a job in Vietnam last week (which I really, really want) and I was wondering how long it takes for them to get back to you?

How long have some of you waited to hear back from interviews?

I had an interview for a job I really really wanted once, and heard nothing. For weeks and weeks and weeks.

When I eventually emailed them, both the HT and the deputy apparently thought that the other would have let me know the bad news, therefore neither had. I put that one down as a lucky escape now.

I think you can afford to wait a bit longer than a week without panicking. However, if in doubt, call/email and ask. It might be down to incompetence misunderstanding rather than plain ignorance.

I think it is quite shocking that schools (heads et al) behave in this way. At the end of an interview, ask what is the process frolm now and force them to give you a deadline. Good schools will say, I finish interviewing on.............I then have to discuss with ..............so you should here within.................. and ask if they will contact you if successful or not
