    Realise some will be frustrated by how few questions from the forums / Twitter were put to the politicians at the live debate last night, so hope that the webchats will make up for it.

    We'll be using live questions, but we've also collected a fair number that we've collected ahead of time and that we'll drip-feed to make sure we cover as many of the issues that you want addressed.

    So far, questions from teachers that will be put to him include ones on:

    * cover supervisors replacing teachers

    * why he told the BBC half of schools inspected weren't good enough

    * why Lib Dems didn't back extension of EYFS and delaying of primary phase

    * phonics

    * if he can name any teachers still in the classroom who keep him informed

    Please keep adding more, though. We're going to try to put as many to him - but it's only an hour.

    All the best,

    Michael

     You're not wrong there, if understating the situation a little.

    The Chair was next to useless at fielding the audience questions and just let some individuals rant about their own personal agendas.

    David, I am not a teacher but my partner is, I worry about her safety at work, she has been assaulted a couple of times, knocked to the ground, bruised, frightened and upset. She has had to face the perpetrators the next day or the next week.

    Her Head has been very keen to keep these incidents below the local community radar and has discouraged any contact with the police. In one of the cases one of he parents of a child involved was a lawyer with a litigious streak who threatened to counter claim if his child was excluded.  In each case she was intervening in gang related bullying.  She put her personal safety at risk to prevent a child being seriously hurt.  Well done her, I am proud of her courage, but I regret that she needs it to teach art.

    By the way, blaming the school is not an acceptable answer, the school is well led and in the top hundred by results, in the country. I realise the solution may have to be multi-faceted but what do you think could be done to prevent this happening yet again ?

    Thanks fincop - that's a good question - will pass it on.

    Understand your frustration edant. Would say, though, that there wasn't the single-issue droning from the audience on Monday that I've seen at many other education debates I've attended featuring politicians  (have been at a few where many of the questions have come from people in the audience all affiliated to the same campaign group - but the chairs didn't spot it). Indifferent

    I am optimistic that the webchats with Laws then Gove and Balls will provide an opportunity to cover more ground, and get answers to the questions many teachers on here want asked. Whether you'll like those answers is another matter, but it will be more interactive and less of an opportunity for political point scoring. Really hope you'll join us this evening or put a question up on here in advance.

    All the best,

    Michael
