We’re really interested to hear what you think about the new TES Resources. We've made a batch of changes this week designed to make it easier and faster for you to find relevant resources.

Now resources are laid out in the way that reflects the way you teach. Working with subject experts we've mapped the existing collection of over 50,000 resources to a detailed curriculum structure.

To view these changes, please visit the new Resources area here.

Read more about the redesign process.

    Many thanks,

    The TES Resources team

i cant access the survey because the link disappears when i move the cursor over it.  i dont know if it is my computer or the website.  anyways - I preferred the resources before when it would list all of the resources according to newest first.  this allowed me to look at all new uploads.  i cant seem to do this now and have to go into each subject which is then broken down further - i havent got time to do this and unless i am looking for something specific it is too time consuming just to have a general update/look.

    Hi there,

We’re sorry you’ve had trouble accessing the survey link but we really appreciate that you have taken the time to give us your feedback so soon after the new website launch. We also hope that we can explain some of our reasons for making such changes, and that once you become familiar with these, that you will find the changes begin to feel like improvements.

To offer some background on the changes to the website; we undertook an extensive research project to better understand how we could improve the structure and design of the website; to make it easier and faster to find, download and share resources.

We also worked with a group of teachers from across the age phases and subjects, to refine the ways that resources are categorised by subject, topic, subtopic and key phase. Our web development team then carried out user research to try to make sure that the design and functionality of the website matches the way that we have categorised resources.

Of course, we really hope that these changes will mean that users are more easily able to find, download and share resources; however it is also really important that we record experiences such as yours and feed these into our review and development process. If you have anything else you’d like to share we welcome your feedback and look forward to hearing from you.

Lastly, there are two ways you can view the latest uploads; you can use the new links section that is titled 'Latest resources' to see what's just been added by topics, or you can click 'Newest' in any search page to see what's new to any subject area. We hope this helps.

    Many thanks,
    TES Resources Team

Hi, please excuse me for being thick but how do I browse?  Sometimes I'm not looking for anything in particular but just like to see what people have added since I last looked.  As far as I can see, I can only get the 4 or so most recent additions but thats it?  Help!

You don't need anything to click on - just hit 'Enter' on your keyboard. I suspect they left it off because that's how most people search nowadays.

On feedback, I have filled in the survey, but just realised something else when I saw one of my resources without being logged in. On the resource page it has a couple of recommendations of other items by the same user that are highly-rated. However, might it be good to put in the item of theirs with the most downloads too - perhaps just their highest rated and their most downloaded item? I say so because on my page it lists two highly-rated items which have both got an overall rating of 5-stars, but have only been downloaded about 3000 times between them, whereas the "50 ideas for meeting your new class" resource has been downloaded 22,000 times alone, and has a rating of just 4.9 stars!  The maths of it is just that because it was so heavily used, it's almost inevitable that it won't maintain a perfect review record.

Does that little gripe make sense, even?

I've also just noticed you can no longer sort results by relevance.  Please bring this back!

Is that not just the default order it uses anyway?

First impression - I think it looks really nice! I like the way you can narrow down your search as much as you like before you type in the terms.

    TES, you're wonderful! YesYesYes
