So now that Swansea have been promoted, what are your opinions on next season?

Will the 3 promoted teams struggle or be alright?

Will it be 20 league titles for Man Utd or will there be a revival for Chelsea? Or even Arsenal? And as for Man City, will they be in with a shout?

I know a lot will depend on the transfers in and out and managerial changes but just interested to hear other opinions at this stage.

I think Swansea will struggle to attract top level players and will end up like Blackpool - relegated after making a decent go of it. Norwich are currently the weakest of the three promoted sides in my opinion. QPR will probably do alright.

    What do you reckon?

Swansea play good attacking football so may well do an Ipswich initially (quality squad isn't there to sustain it though), but my money's on the 3 promoted teams to yo-yo straight back down, with WBA, Wigan (stepping stone players moving on)  and Blackburn (unrealistic owners who'll drive the club to debt and spiral) in the final mix... I hope!

As a Swansea boy I'd love to see them stay in top-flight football for a little longer than a year, but realistically, this is unlikely.  Their playing style suits the Premier League but I also can't see them attracting enough players.  Still, it will be good for the club and the city, both aspirationally and fiscally.

It does depend on transfer dealings. If Wenger bites the bullet then I think Arsenal will be in with the best shout for the title. If they are going to sell Fabragas, now is the time to do it. He didn't have a great year anyway. I think they need to build around Wilshire. Let Nasri run free a little and hopefully keep Ramsey and Van Persie fit for a whole season. Vermaelen back will be like a new signing for them too.

I think QPR will stay up, Swansea very close and Norwich (along with their smug manager) right back down.

I like Swansea - good football, we visit south Wales most years and Scott Sinclair is from Bath (friends with my younger sisters in fact - I keep telling them to get him to sign for Leeds!). I really hope they stay up.

If Fabregas goes to Barcelona as rumoured, I think Arsenal will suffer. It will be a lot of weight on Wilshere's shoulders as he will be the natural replacement yet such a young age. Having said that, Fabregas was running the show at a young age wasn't he so I guess if they are good enough, they are old enough as the saying goes.

Milgod, I'm an Exeter City fan and Swansea signed our star midfielder Ryan Harley (on a free transfer Sad) but now they have made the Premiership, he will probably become available as the step from L1 to the Prem is huge. I have read that Leeds and Southampton are the two main clubs in for him at this stage and have to say that he would be a great signing for a Championship club. Picked up from Weston Super Mare three years back, moulded into a classy playmaker by our legendary manager, scored plenty of goals in L1 (including 2 against Leeds when we beat you at our place Big Smile) but the Premiership would be too physical for him in my opinion. Keep your eye out for him....

Who do we think will win the Premiership then? With Scholes announcing he is to retire as well as Neville and Van der Sar, do the other teams have a chance?

Much as I love them, I'm not sure that the loss of Neville and Scholes will make much difference. VDS is another matter tho...

Can't we go back to having a football season? You know, you play a couple of friendlies at the end of August, then get a league programe in by the end of April and finish off with the Cup final last weekend in April. Then actually have a rest for a few months!  Football is just relentless now, the 'closed' season lasts about 4 weeks.

I think you must be really really old or just remember things with a rose tinted view. I can't remember the football season not starting early-mid August and the season would always finish start of May. I'm sure it has been this way for 20 years now.

I don't think there is enough football. I hate having to wait until July for pre-season to start. At least the fixtures are out soon.

I am old but the idea that the season starts July is awful.  I can recall going on Hliday at the end of August beginning Sept as a kid and being taken to games.
