As members of the NUT my colleagues and I are striking on the 30th, we have been asked to provide jobs for TA's to do as the school is closed to children. Is this acceptable? We think not!

Wouldn't have thought so.  You should not be required to plan any additional work for anyone.  That day should be for your Headteacher or other line manager to manage as you are not getting paid for it.  In one school I know, all the TAs are updating IEPs, changing displays, undertaking some training and other tasks organise by the Headteacher.
