Sounds like he just wants to flood the market with NQTs to keep the supply salaries at the derisory rate.

No thought for the educational effect at all

"Both [Russell] and members of the Association of Headteachers and Deputes in Scotland (AHDS) attributed the current shortage of supply teachers to the introduction earlier this year in the teachers’ agreement of a pay cut for supply cover for five days or less."

Surely the solution is not training more teachers but paying all teachers on the main salary scale? Revoke the SOD!

Of course it is SPTA! So what at all is he thinking about?

Restore professional pay from Day One and the shortage will be soon be eased.

But wait and see what he does. The answer is there for him, honestly, it's under his nose; it's like watching a child live in a pretendy world, "you can't see me, cos I'm hiding behind my middle finger (which is pointed directly at you)."

I'll eat my friggin key board and post the clip on youtube if I am wrong about this : he will go ahead with this falsehood of a fix (recruitment campaign for new teachers.) Christ almighty, Derren Brown could learn a few moves off of this guy.

You pay peanuts.....You get monkeys! Sadly it's a monkey doing the paying.........I, and many of my esteemed experienced colleagues, am soooooooo much more effective, efficient, skilled and useful now(when I think back many years to when I was an NQT) than I was at the start. George Galloway got it bang on when he remarked, Education is expensive but what is the cost of ignorance?
