Its such an amazing feeling - I had to stop myself from doing the Morcambe & Wise dance down the corridor and whooping at the top of my voice!!!!!!!

As for keeping a straight face in front of head when he offered redundancy/early retirement as something for me to consider - it took all my powers of superb acting ability not to have a cheshire cat grin!

Have agreed to formally inform govs on weds, and then I'll tell colleagues, can't wait! Already quietly thinking won't need to do xyz when things are discussed at staff meetings!

It has taken me a year to settle into retirement properly but now I can honestly say it's like having a bag taken off your head.

Told my Head and Governors last week. (going in the summer)......what a feeling!

Like others, I am just not letting things bother me in these final months...there is no point. Lots of things I am doing for the very last time and the light at the end of the tunnel has just got a whole lot brighter.

    Good luck to you all.
