    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else who has applied for GTP Primary courses across the UK had any offers yet?

I've had a conditional offer through from Nottingham Trent which im chuffed about! It's conditional however on the funding for 2012/2013, as the TDA funding has not been annonced as yet and therefore was seeing if anyone else is in the same boat?

Although its only a conditional offer i think its quite definite, if the number of places are similar to last year. Any ideas when the funding will be announced?

     Thanks

There is a lot of concern about exactly what will be announced it is very likely the funding for GTP will be reduced -in line with other ITT reductions- with the requirement for schools to have to fund more of the GTP. Last year the initial announcements were March but this current delay has the hallmark of a pending ministerial announcement

I'm applying for secondary and I also had what I thought was a fairly definite provisional offer.  I had an interview and offer from Warwick before Christmas and barely 2 weeks later they emailed to tell me that the course is unlikely to run due to funding issues with the PGCE course.  I have since applied to other providers and have heard nothing at all.  It would be nice if they could at least interview or tell you a firm no because the waiting is driving me up the wall.

It seems that the word is that more training is going to be delivered in schools.  Well the GTP is mostly delivered in school so I didn't think it would be affected so much

Ive just been offered an interview for the Somerset SCitt Consortium for the GTP Primary Course. We have to give a presentation on what items we would take to a Desert Island and how they show why we want to be a teacher! It seems like this is the only non educationally based presentation in the whole of the UK!!

My GTP interview was back in the middle of November 2011 and i heard 2 weeks ago about my offer to start in September. I know the waiting is the worst part! I've had my fair share of it as after applying last year for the GTP and being placed on the reserve list in February 2011, with the hope that i could get on, i didn't so im chuffed to have an offer this time round. Michael Gove seems to want applicants to train more in school through an employment based route so fingers crossed the GTP will be ok for funding again this year. I look everyday on the DfE and TDA wesbite in hope we'll know soon!

I've received an offer on the priority list depending on funding, however at the end of the interview day I was given a score which placed me on the reserve list so I'm hoping they haven't made a mistake, thus won't keep my hopes up...but it's my first choice provider so I really hope to get it as I haven't heard anything from the other 2!

The wait is really horrible! Good luck to you all

    x

I have been offered a conditional offer (on funding/places allocation) from a training provider for GTP 2012 secondary biology. Waiting for confirmation and would be happy for any information! thanks

I also got a provisional offer from Warwick (I interviewed and tested before Christmas) and am still waiting to see if the course will run or not. I have been invited to interview at another university for the GTP but I don't want to go through the selection process with them if training budgets have not been announced yet (but the University still want to see me before the end of February so I hope funding will be announced before then). I am still waiting for a third university to decide if they want to see me for their GTP (they say they will decide in February). My whole life in on hold at the moment while I wait for decisions to be made, I am having to turn work down as I cannot commit to any University contracts just in case I will get to start the GTP in September, I hope decisions for funding will be made ASAP.

Sounds like we're all in the same position then which is good to know. My main concern was if anyone had received an unconditional but with all the uncertainty with funding i can see this is very doubtful.

If you've been placed on the reserve list that will be different to receiving a conditional offer so it'll be an even longer waiting game for you im afraid. I was informed February last year that i was on the reserve list so i kept my hopes up all year but then heard nothing, it was heartbraking. I'd try to be realistic if i was you, although at the same time you need to be positive.

     I hope we hear soon!!
