I personally don't feel one adult directed literacy and numeracy a week is enough. How can I approach this with the Ey leader? Have tried but they have said they want to keep doing it this way. Do I secretly add in more or just Carry on as we are? I want my chn to achieve excellent profile scores and feel we are not doing enough to do this!

Is it because of the time it takes to annotate their work, or because they feel if you are always invoved in AD learning you wont get time to observe/ develop CI learning? Ask them why.

In my FS2 class I try to work with each group at least twice a week in CLL and MD, but I only do a full annotation for one of the piece of work, the other I just date with the LO and initial.

I can normally get through two groups after my whole class input, so with 5 inputs in a week I in theory get through every group twice, except sometimes my more ables will write for a whole session, in which case I would have the other group at another point in the afternoon.

This also means that every group works with me in one subject every day as the one group I dont have for either cll or md I have for reading.

You don't say whether your children are in nursery or reception.

My reception class have a 'formal' sit down and record lesson at least once a day... usually PSRN or CLL... every day. I do whole class input then work with a group while another group does an independent task or work with my ta, then we swap over so that all four groups have done an activity.

Quite often now i'll have some groups working independently on their work for CLL so all of the class with be working at the same time, which they actually prefer to only having one group working as no one is missing out on free choice activities.

It was purely a question Inky.

I only annotate 1 piece of lit and num per week per child- UNLESS- something significant happens in another group session and then I would annotate that also. I suppose it depends how much you write in your annotation and what your schools expectations are doesn't it.

Is that the same as marking or are you writing an "observation" on the child's work?
