The college I worked at "covered up" a paedophiles activities as they carried out no reference checks on a lecturer (in fact he was under investigation at a previous employment according to Ofsted) I reported his activities to the management but they chose to ignore. 3 months later he is arrested for sex crimes at his previous employment, the college were quick to say nothing happened here and no parents were informed. They attempted to silence me but failed. Since then I have requested through the proper channels that the parents be informed but to no avail. The management got away with it. Now its payback time what is the best way to name and shame these people (yes on here is a start) and contact the parents.

Watch your step.  While I agree in principle that management like this should be exposed, it's never that simple.  And he's been arrested, not convicted.

    Dear Backstop

I am saddened to see that this is still causing you such distress.  I know we have corresponded about this and I put you onto Public Concern at Work, the whistle-blowing organisation.  These people have expertise in advising people how to go about whistle-blowing and providing legal support for those who find themselves victimised, having done so.  PCAW drafted the legislation that became the 1998 Public Interest Disclosure Act and has been amalgamated into the 1996 Employment Rights Act.

The last I knew, you were in contact with PCAW.  I don't know what has happened since but, if they are unable to help you, I suspect your options are now limited.  Perhaps the time has now come to accept that life is not always fair and people do not always get the justice they deserve.  We only have to take one look at what's happening in Syria to realise that.  All that is going to happen, if you continue to pursue this, is that you and your family will suffer even more than you already have.

What did happen at the college? What exactly is it that you want to happen to him/them?

Personally, I think you are playing a dangerous game, and one that you are highly likely to lose. If nothing has happened to any of the students at the college is your aim just to blacken their name and cause problems?

A lot happened to the students but was not reported to the police, if your child was involved what would your reaction be? would you be happy that these people lied to police to keep the college out of it are holding their highly paid positions? I lost my job for whistle blowing, what would you do?

Are you saying that you have evidence that he abused students at the college? I remember this from last time and asked then how could at least one parent not be aware as I read the newspaper reports. If you have been through all the relevant channels as GL says maybe it is time to accept you have done everything and move on.

It's clear that you are frustrated by the apparent injustice here.  I'm afraid I don't know much about whistleblowing etc but did wonder if going to the police would be the obvious thing to do?  I have encountered an instance of sexual crimes against FE students and, thankfully, the college did everything they could to expose the person involved; what a shame this isn't always the case.

Sorry for not being any help but I really am at a loss to know what to suggest.
