     So - he's gone.

I know Terry hasn't been convicted yet but I think I'd have sacked him from the captaincy too. In fact he's arguably had such a negative effect on the team that he perhaps should have been dropped entirely. The fact that Capello's sacked and reinstated him once rather left him with nowhere to go if he felt he'd been undermined, I suppose.

I'm just glad Rooney's suspended for the first two matches of the Euros so he can't be considered.

And will Redknapp dump Spurs to take the job now?

I think it would be a real shame if Spurs had to lose their manager just at the height of their success. Terry is innocent until proven otherwise but it's hard to see how he can function as captain when there's all this fuss about people just shaking hands with him. A speedy trial would have been better all round.

Blimey, just noticed this on a news site. Haven't followed the shenanigans that closely but it's only a matter of months to Euro 2012.

    Who will replace him?

Messiah 'Arry! All is right with the world of justice after he was cleared by a court today!

Ah yes, I didn't make the connection initially.

It would seem there's little doubt then.

Far be it from me to suggest the two could possibly be linked! :-P

Capello was right to resign- he is financially secure for life and the FA were going over his head. He may only know 100 words  of English, but can anyone make a silk purse from the sow's ear of lazy overpaid, technically second-rate footballers crowded out of their teams by better forein players? I doubt it.

Thumb print on the dotted line, 'Arry?

I love the big football campaigns. Crown Courts, the media, Planet Football.

Terry I think the FA were correct. Capello had no option but to resign. Really with the alledged allegations then a suspension of the captaincy is correct.

Our Arry R. Has admitted he can hardly read or write, know what an e-mail is and has never sent a text in his life.

He sounds just a little unsophisticated for Planet Football and England Manager.

Bring back Sven, he knew about opera, slick and charming. And fantastic entertainment.

I just can't see Harry handling the world stage.

I agree-  I liked Sven too. He got England to two quarter finals , losing only to the lottery of penalties. He introduced new techniques of preparation , including sport psychologists, and spotted Rooney's talent before Alex Ferguson. I think a foreigner who has been round the block of Champions League football would be better than Arthur Daley- Redknapp fresh from his court case

Yep it is more than just football. My take on a world cup is if you get out of the group stages it is a good campaign.

Sven was my favourtite though. Capello has done well , we have qualified for the major campaigns. Jerry gave us a pasting in 2010 and my only dissapointment was that it was not an 'Epic', match.

Anyway we are in crisis again, looking for a manager and a captain at this stage of the game. Should be a good buildup  with loads of scandals and stuff.
