Hi, I'm an RQT and have been thinking about buying my first home. I've heard of 'key worker schemes' but not sure how they work, or whether they are any good at all. has anyone applied for one also? or is currently part of a scheme?

I looked at going onto a scheme in my local area available for teachers where you only needed a 5% deposit but the mortgage rate was huge so you would pay back loads more so I saved the extra and got a great first time buyer 10% deal with the halifax.
