Anyone teach IGCSE Art

  • post reply

I have been teaching OCR GCSE Art for a number of years now but am moving to a new school and will be teaching IGCSE Cambridge Board.  Does anyone have any tips or wisdom to impart?

     Thank you

This website has been amazingly helpful - everything from past papers, teaching resources and an active forum with examiner input. You'll need to ask your new school/CIE centre for a login) and if you're given the opportunity to get on one of their on-line training courses, grab it! Fantastic value. I've been teaching CIE for 10 years, have been tempted to change (because of inconsistent marking IMO) but am still stuck with it. http://teachers.cie.org.uk PM me with your email address if you'd like to get in touch.

Hey there, I write a blog to help Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Art students. It is still quite in the new stage, but is growing rapidly and has some resources which should be helpful...i.e. examples of student work that was awarded 100% and 'Top in the World' IGCSE for Oct 2011. Look forward to having you stop by! :) Amiria http://www.amiria.co.nz/artist/

Wow, what amazing beautiful work! i'm just completing the first year of IGCSE, and have found it a really odd way of working at times - just some of the restrictions for the submission of coursework. I picked up a Y11 group, all of whom had worked double sided in A3 sketchbooks - we had to cut these into pieces to enable them to make the required boards - it was a traumatic experience! At least I will be fully prepared for next year! Anyone got any other opinions on the IGCSE? Thanks
