I'm starting the topic of human rights to my students next week and wondered if anyone had any good ideas on how to introduce the concept? I want something attention grabbing rather than just asking 'what do you think of when i say human rights' - after this I'm going to go on to get them to draw up a bill of human rights for a new country - anyone got any suggestions about a good lead into this?
Hello,
The Equality and Human Rights Commissionhave just launched a new resource call Equal Rights, Equal Respect. It has lesson plans, videos and assembly plans - plus they're doing a training webinar in November. It's differentiated, so you should be able to use it without much editing.
Hope it's useful!
