I've agreed to teach 4 weeks of OCR GCSE classics Unit A 353: Option 2 POMPEII. I am not a classics specialist. I have the lesson plans and documents from the OCR website and have read around the topics. I will order the suggested OUP book if the school doesn't have it. If any one has other resources for this topic I would appreciate any help. I will have a mixed ability, small group.
There is an excellent BBC programme "The last days of Pompeii" . It should be sourceable as a video / DVD and deals with everything from Pliny's account to the pyroclastic aftermath at Herculaneum.
Thank you. I have been helped out by a member of staff who previously taught classics.
