We've had My Story and Comparing so far which worked quite well I was wondering about Travelling (not journies - foundation).

I'm an NQT at the moment in a whole KS2 class. The topics that I have done so far are; Ancient Egypt, Under the Sea and Islands. They all have some really good opportunities for different areas. Egypt was great for History, Art, Recounts (discovering Tut's tomb). We made a lifesize mummy complete with disembowelling ceremony, mini tombs with artifacts, loads of things. Under the Sea was good for Science, DT (designing underwater exploration vehicles), Music (composing sea storm music) and Poetry. Islands is going well at the moment with a focus on comparing different Islands, global warming (Antarctica), designing their own islands and producing a brochure to advertise it (persuasive writing), Science based around changing materials and the water cycle.
