Does anyone else do this? and has anyone else had problems with the interpretation of the spec for Design students. Entered student for makeup and masks but Edexcel tell me it was meant to be seen in performance on the night by other AS students. Spec does NOT say this clearly. Anyone else had a problem with this lack of clarity or is it just me?

Have not done this but the specification is perfectly clear. The student doing design does this is support of others either in monologue/duologue or the group performance.

There are a number of references to the design stuents supporting the performance itself, wherever this is section A or B. If in doubt you should have sought advice from the board.

    For example, from the spec:

In Section A, students are required to demonstrate in performance

at least one lighting change/aspect of set/costume/mask/makeup/

sound cue, although in their documentation they must be able

to produce all of the evidence for their chosen skill listed on the

    following page.

I have entered candidates for costume design and set design

I found it veery clear both in the specification and in the published mark scheme, that candidates' work would be sen within the context of the performance of the monologue

Yes, I have obviously read this in the spec but it doesnt say that 'The performance' has to be by AS students done on the night. I can see now that that is implied but it is not explicit. What acting student would wear a mask for thir piece and who would volunteer to do another monologue to enable a design student to show their mask in performance. Thanks for the response though.
