GTP at Institute or London South Bank??

  • post reply
I've asked a few people whether having PGCE would look better on my CV. The answer back has always been having IOE on your CV ie. RusselGroup Uni looks even better. I don't know how true that is but I'm going to take the risk! Instead of focussing on GTP vs .GTP&PGCE I'm looking at Portfolio=QTS vs. Portfolio+whole load of assignments+lots.of.uni hours=a very tired student.

My interview at South Bank was on 2nd March and at IOE on 13th March. After much deliberation I have more or less decided on IOE (just waiting for my head to clear up a couple of points) and am feeling relieved having made a decision especially as I know there will be people on the waiting list keen for news; I know how awful the wait was for me....

I found out you definitely do have to do a SSE at another primary school at LSBU...

After much deliberation, I finally officially decided on LSBU a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering, has anyone had any further info about the GTP at LSBU yet, eg re. enrolment date, start date etc?

I have accepted a place at LSBU but have as yet received any further information. I met with my employing school who are really keen to find out more about the running of the GTP and how they can start to plan for September. They have received nothing at all either. This is a little worrying considering on the interview day they stressed how important it was to return the partnership agreement. I've emailed the administrator to find out what the timescales are and got an out of office, that they are moving office! Anyone else heard anything?

Just received this email back Just sending the Partnership agreement to the schools now.   You will have induction and enrolment in September. We will be sending a pack of information to you in the post with term dates, handbook and a pre-course assignment. I am hoping this will be in the next month or so. So there we have it...sort of!

Thanks for the info babyduck! I also received an email back today but all it said was that they'd sent the partnership agreement out today. Good to know we'll be receiving an info pack soon!
