Join other headteachers and talk about the challenges of the role in the TES Headteacher Group. This is the place to get advice from your peers on all aspects of school management including dealing with governors and parents.
I'm carrying out some research and would like to find out: 1 In which areas does your school seek out, or find hard to source, accredited (level 2 or higher) CPD or inset training for teaching staff ; and what is the motivation for such training (for example Ofsted/LEA improvement evidence, teaching and learning improvement, behaviour management, or non teaching paperwork such as risk assessment and/or ancillary)? 2 What methods of training works best in your school (for example, open courses, courses for management to trickle-down, DVDs, online, in-house or other)? 3 Have you found any CPD blackspots - ie areas where there is nothing available to fulfil a training requirement? I've posted this in a couple of forums, not to cross-post, but to seek out different views from different phases and personnel - ie SLT, Heads, and Primary/Secondary teaching staff. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
