Which to chose?
1) My mentor from my last uni placement in year 1 (Job is also in this year group) who knows meand my teaching well and I had really good placement with -outstanding school as well. Problem is my placement was in June 2010!
2) The head from the school I have been working at every Friday since Christmas (and other cover also). She knows of me but has never seen me teach and she helps me out with a very difficult EYFS class when needed (I worry i look weak). She is a lovely young head although I worry what she thinks of me as 4 boys in my weekly class are very difficult although she likes my parent relationships and my confidence in front of the school in assemblies. She was happy to be reference when I approached her.
I wonder why you are still giving your Uni tutor after so much time. This is just as old as your reference 1, but is not actually a school reference.
To be honest, I would sugget ref 1 plus the referee from your current referee's school, the school where you are applying.
What's your problem with giving her?

My problem with my current and always used referee is she is the Headteacher of the school I am applying to, so shes doing the shortlisting. However she does know me very well. I always put her as my last employed reference as I worked for her so much last year.
I only put my Uni tutor as most of my LA application forms encourage NQTs who haven't started induction to put their university. Because my supply is bitty apart from working for the 2 heads I have mentioned in this thread the only other reference option is my agency (reallly don't want to put them).
No, certainly do NOT use the supply agency - they are USELESS for references as a general rule.
Why not just ask this Head if you can put her, and if not, who she suggests of the others?
That way you will get it 100% right, and she'll appreciate being consulted.
