Leaving the teaching profession less than five years ago shouldn't hinder your chances of successfully gaining a place as a teacher again.
However, there are a couple of things you can do to improve the strength of your application. First of all it is important to gain some recent classroom experience by observing classes in the subject you wish to teach. You can find contact information for local schools via the following website:

Being flexible about the location you would be willing to work in will also improve your chances of finding a teaching post. You can check for teaching positions on the TES, as well as your Local Authority website.
Good luck with your return to the teaching profession.
