Hi. Anyone started thinking about how to prepare for this yet?
We're going to start looking at it in Dept time next week.
It seems that several KS3 topics move into KS2. So, when Y7 students turn up in 2014, they won't have studied these new KS2 topics, so we'll have to teach these as well.....
Any thoughts welcome.
They will if KS2 start teaching it this year? Do you liase with KS2? Or they will probably come out in class discussion and you can fill in any gaps. Just because it has been taught doesn't mean its been learnt, so i wouldnt worry.
As a dept we are reviewing our KS 3 curriculum anyway so we will ammend some of the content this year as we teach it as it looks like it will help them for their future GCSE changes.
What text book do you use at the moment or scheme of work? If so would you recomend it?
I just suggest doing what works for your children, in your school, to prepare them for your courses. Yes, there will be some difficulties in the transition perios, so if there is stuff they need to know...cover it!
