National 5 Chemistry - Good luck to all who sail in her!

Wow! What a course, tons of difficult Higher stuff in it and expected to be delivered in bi- and tri-level classes. Oh well...wonder if we'll get any time to assimilate and write courses before our August start! Love the 'When developing your Chemistry Course there should be opportunities for learners to take responsibility for their learning." What? In the next 8 weeks? For 3 levels? 8 years to deliver and it is a joke! Absolute joke that that's all we get! Ha! Ha!

Nothing much has changed then. Still expected to deliver a curriculum to students at levels below [national 5] which is of limited worth to them. Teach chemistry [national 5] to those who will benefit from it, stretch them and enrich the experience with quality expirements and experiences. What fascinated me with the sciences was these rich experiences, manageable through a lack of disinterested challenging pupils. Science is too important to the nation to have to compromise on all 3 levels. Yes three levels and let us not forget it will be the teacher's fault if it does not work.
