This is where primary teachers in Scotland get together to share ideas and to discuss the latest issues in primary education.
Does anyone know of any good listening skills activities or books? Looking for some fun activities to try with my class to improve their listening.
Thank You.
Hi Dougaldog
There's a really good book called "Teaching Children to Listen" by Liz Spooner and Jacqui Woodcock. I use it with my class a lot and they absolutely love the games. It covers: looking at the speaker, listening to ALL the words, staying quiet and sitting still. It was written by two Speech and Language Therapists and has some interesting things to say about class seating arrangements. There are a wide variety of different activities to choose from which are good fun and help children to practise the skills mentioned above.
Best wishes
