This is where primary teachers in Scotland get together to share ideas and to discuss the latest issues in primary education.
Just hoping for a bit of advice... I have been planning the literacy unit of stories with historical settings and am working on the bit about using time connectives:
'Look at the way that the passing of time is represented and relate this to the organisation of paragraphs and key phrases, for example The next moment … Minutes ticked by … Some weeks later …
Sometimes there are jumps in time, some events are skimmed over quickly & others told in detail. Ask the children to give some examples in the story.'
Can anyone think of any good differentiated tasks that could go with this part? Am I moving all children on if the HA already know how to use time connectives? And where could I move to next?
Thanks in advance of advice!
