A probationer in my school heard this week that she had secured a perm post... BUT it was in her school and sped up only because the HT made a call as the probationer was going on other interviews and HT was getting nervous that she'd lose her. I found out I had my perm post the same way, several years ago right enough. Otherwise (hate to tell you) SLC are pretty damned slow about getting themselves organised. Several other probationers/ temp staff who interviewed (inc one in my dept) are also still waiting...

As for waiting time... when I was going through the interview cattle market, SLC interviewed in JANUARY and then told nobody about jobs till the very end of May!

Yup, not uncommon to be waiting until the last few weeks of term. Not what you wanted to hear, I know.

I know of a few folk who got phone calls about perm positions on Wednesday past (2.5.12), including someone appointed to my department. Unfortunately, no phone call for me. Do they not realise the stress of leaving us hanging has a negative impact on our stress levels and thus, our work?
