Appreciate your help with my issues: how much has the curriculum changed and how to reintegrate into teaching.
I have been out of teaching for two years (went overseas where the jobs were supposed to be plentiful, but the reality was short term supply in the worst schools imaginable) and am due to return in August/January. I had been in a SEN school as sole subject teacher (Computing) but the role centred on getting kids to achieve within the limits of the current curriculum and using additional pathways such as Access level courses and ASDAN etc. I'm rusty on the Higher onwards curriculum as this was very rarely taught and being a sole teacher mean that there was not a great deal of collegiality to call on.
The local authority has said that it will place me wherever it has a vacancy, ie I don't have a clue where. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
