The TES Secondary Group is a great source of support, ideas and inspiration and is the place to share best practice and get your questions answered by your peers. This is also where you go to debate the latest issues in secondary education.
Does anyone have good examples of GCSE and A level papers
being dramatically re-graded after a re-mark? I'm a journalist working
on a story about exam marking and would be keen to hear any stories -
particularly if lots of students got a different mark after an enquiry.
My email is Julia@Splitpeaproductions.com
Our English dept reckon about 25% of remarks end up with a grade increase.
Do you mean "re-mark"?
If a Centre's not happy with the results a body's awarding, it's first avenue for possible redress is to pay for a "Results Enquiry". That gets a "Review" by a team leader/senior Examiner. A Review is not the same as a re-mark. That is not what the Centre has paid for.
