Special school interview

  • post reply

     Hi,

In an interview at a special school, what would be expected to do? Not having met the students or LSAs that are in the class with you (ratio 2:1) how would you be observed?

Can anyone offer advice from when they did their interview in a special school???

    Thanks in advance

You'd probably be observed teaching the class for about 20 minutes. You'd be given an idea of the ability of the pupils and a rough idea of what to teach (eg. a short literacy lesson for 8 KS2 pupils ranging from P3 to P8). The teacher would be expected to plan, prepare (including making or finding resources) and deliver the lesson which would obviously include directing the LSA's.You may also have to feed back on how you felt the lesson went and what you'd do better next time. There would be an individual interview and maybe an informal meeting with some pupils to see how you got on with them.

As Dzil said but the teaching part of interviews at my place last 30 minutes rather than 20.
