Recruitment Fair Help!

  • post reply
Hi I am new to this. I'm going to attend a recruitment fair in London in January - for the first time. I've pretty much read up on anything and everything that relates to recruitment fairs. I have one questions though and it may seem a bit shallow....but....what the heck does one wear to the Reception held on one of the nights? A suit? A dress? Any ideas? I really hope you have some ideas....

Hi gummibear Don't panic, this does not need to be a big deal! I've been the the same recruitment fair that you are attending 3 times now and each time I've found it to be an interesting and very productive experience. Since you mention possibly wearing a dress, I'm assuming you are a female?? In which case, for the reception wearing a dress would be fine, or a suit would also be be fine. There will be some people wearing casual clothes, jeans for example, but since the reception will be the first time that you will come across the people doing the recruiting, I would dress smartly. This is my opinion. During the actual recruitment part of the fair I would wear a suit or smart dress. Do you know how the fair works? What is your subject?

Hi karel. Thanks for your reply. Yes I am female - should have mentioned that - oops. Will take you up on your advice to dress smartly and or perhaps just go in the suit I will be wearing for the interviews. This will be my first fair, and not really sure how it works, but how hard can it be? A little nervous about it but excited at the same time. I love to challenge myself and to try out new things. My area of teaching is in Special Educational Needs. Thanks again for input. :)
