Whether you're a primary teacher looking for help covering Level 6 Maths, a secondary teacher who has suggestions (or strong feelings!) on how it should be done, or a marker wondering what all the fuss is about, get connected here.
I've been supporting a local primary school covering Level 5 and 6 topics this year and last. It's been much easier now that I've found the set of books from Rising Stars. There's a teacher guide (with lesson plans and photocopiable worksheets), a revision guide, and best of all a workbook which is only around £5 per student. I'm not on commission, I just think they are the best thing I've used for my group!
I teach the top maths set in year 6 in a four form entry school and will take over as maths coordinator from September. Half of my set are working at level 6. Have not used the Rising Stars book, but will look into it. I have used some really good resources from the kangaroo maths website. The level6opedia is really helpful.

Agreed, we use Kangaroo Maths in secondary too. The sheets aren't very comprehensive, they are better designed as assesssment sheets rather than teaching resources. The worksheets in Rising Stars have more questions and give more time for consolidation.
We have used the Level Up books for our more able mathematicians (we went for the level 5-7 one) and there is a homework book that links with it. We have also used kangaroo maths and the challenges on the NRich website. There are all excellent.
Has anyone found any decent resources for G & T Literacy?
I have been looking at MEP maths resources. It is all free to download and there are mental tests, exercises, problem solving activities and test materials. I've used y7/8 with y6 picking out appropriate bits and pieces.
im doing an asingment that i do not understand whats going on here
