Just finished all my reports and feeling the stress lifting-well apart from leavers show and observation 9am first day back!
No report banks but better than OMR reader at last school. Nightmare system where you were given a bank of reports-each sentence had a code then filled in a large lottery sheet! One teacher accidently filled in wrong codes and had added that her class had taken a BAGA award and can all swim 25 metres!
Good luck to all :)
Be warned...I had 2 parents who read each others reports and commented that some of the phrasing was the same!!!!! Still, they were in the same ability group and thereis only so many ways you can say the same thing.
Hurrah! Finished apart from proof-reading
Reading this thread made me panic that every teacher in the country was spending half term writing reports - except me!
After spending a few days cleaning the house, tackling a mountain of ironing, having time with much neglected hubby and kids etc. etc, I finally felt ready to think about work. Spent yesterday planning :( and finally felt ready to think about reports. I have done 4 today.....I'm on a roll! Only 26 to go, as well as marking all the end of year assessments. Roll on summer when we can have a proper break.

Me too as of 1.30pm this afternoon - then assessed a good 16 or so writing assessments. Who says teachers get good holidays?
Teacher1974I often wonder how many other people spend a whole holiday working. it's rubbish!
Think of the retirement you can look forward to.
I write the comments in topics for every child rather than each child's whole report.
I find that suits me. Also have bank of statements - think I got it off resources on here - as well as using previous reports to generate my own statements.
Working part-time means I've only had to write part of the reports, along with the other class teacher. This makes it more manageable. Plus only 24 in class.
I am nearly finished... Worked for over 3 hours tonight, but nearly done and I started pretty much from scratch. Just levels to put on a two more to write.
So... that'll be my lunchtime tomorrow, then, especially if HT needs them printed out before I leave tomorrow evening.
